Fund A Need
At this year's Crab Feed and Auction evening, a Fund-a-Need event took place with a goal of raising $10,000 for additional instructional supplies such as sewing machines for handwork, javelins for games classes, science equipment, and classroom reader sets. The Board of Trustees challenged everyone in the room to collectively contribute more than the $10,000 goal by designating that any amount over would be given to teachers as bonuses for all they give to their students. Live Oak parents, alumni, and friends took up the challenge and shattered the $10,000 goal by pledging over $30,000!
The feeling in the room of gratitude for all that our teachers give, the warmth and sense of community was palpable. Rev Bowen, 8th grade teacher and current College of Teachers Chairperson, while assuring everyone that the teachers work from a place of love for the children and not a feeling of self sacrifice, expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all of the teachers for what was given that night.
If you were unable to attend the Crab Feed and Auction or are moved to contribute now to purchase additional instructional supplies and to support our teachers you can do so below. To honor both needs thirty cents of each dollar you contribute will go toward future instructional supplies while seventy cents from each dollar will go toward teacher bonuses. Consider making a recurring donation. Just $25 per month for 10 months will generate $250.
We are very grateful for each gift received.
Your gift supports the mission of Live Oak Waldorf School for every child.
Thank you for your generous donation!
